The “Houndstooth” pattern used as the bottom border for the pages in this site was selected to highlight the classic pattern that was made popular during the 1930’s when my granddad started his tailoring business. This duotone textile pattern, characterized by broken checks or abstract four-pointed shapes is still popular today particularly for suiting and especially in jackets and blazers.

Our family tradition brings with it year‘s of experience in the the tailoring trade. With each new generation comes new trends in styles and fabrics but the quality of service and our dedication to finely crafted and tailored clothing is something that never changes.

Traditional tailoring makes use of specific hand and machine sewing and pressing techniques that are unique to the construction of traditional clothing.

As an Alterations Specialist, or Alterationist, Cheryl A. Lofton & Associates can adjust the fit of completed garments, usually ready-to-wear, or restyle them. While all tailors can do alterations, by no means do all alterationists do tailoring.

This is why we work in conjunction with Chaudré Custom Clothiers. At Chaudré, our expert tailors make jackets, trousers or skirts, for men or women. As a custom clothier, Chaudré tailors creates garments one at a time, to order, to meet an individual customer's needs and preferences.

Chaudré also offers a wide selection of ready made shirts and suits as well as accessories — from ties to shoes.

Both Cheryl A. Lofton & Associates and Chaudré offer wardrobe consultanting services recommending styles and colors that are flattering for an individual person.

So, there is absolutely no reason for you not to look your best when you employ our services for all your alteration and tailoring needs.
